Elena Sinanina, Artistic Director and Curator

Elena Sinanina is a curator and artistic director of transdisciplinary projects, she lives and works in Berlin, Germany. After studying theater, German literature and psychology at the Freie Universität Berlin (graduation with an M.A. in 2010), she collaborated with various theatres, museums and exhibition institutions internationally. Her fields of work include performance, installation, sound and discourse with a focus on rituality, Antiquity and critical examination of history(ies). Together with a large number of partners, she developed the “BLACK LAND” project in 2022 and the related festival “BLACK LAND, RED LAND - RESTITUTE” in 2023, among other projects. She is the founder and, together with Yara Mekawei, chairwoman of the non-profit association Initiative BLACK LAND e. V. in Berlin.

Presentation of curatorial research on the movements of ancient Egyptian artifacts belonging to the pharaoh Hatshepsut between Deir el-Bahari, Egypt, and museums in Berlin and New York at the AICAD conference “Engaging Values” at the Pratt Institute, New York. November 13.​
